Aspen.jpg

Aspen

Cat, 1 year, Female

Aspen is a sweet, loving girl who purrs constantly. Aspen was roaming her Foster mom's neighborhood eating the feral's food for about a month before she was caught, no one ever claimed her even though she was only a few months old at the time. Her Foster mom would like to keep her but she already has too many other cats. Aspen loves to play with other kitties, and is almost obsessed with krinkle tunnels. She used to sit in your lap but now that she's older there are too many things to do! Very cat-social, would probably be ok with dogs with a proper introduction.

kevin.jpeg

Kevin

Cat, 7 years, Male

Our cat Kevin has never adjusted to having our other cats in the house. He is very loving and will bond deeply with his people. If he is the only pet he will be an awesome companion. He is supper soft and fuzzy. About 2 years ago he had to have all of his teeth removed. This does not affect his eating and he eats normal cat food.

henry (2).jpg

Henry

German Shepherd, 1 year, Male

Henry is a smart, affectionate, and playful flat back German Shepherd who is housebroken and healthy. He has a recent wellness physical, has tested negative for heart worm, and has all of his vaccinations are up to date. All recommended care has been taken to prevent joint injury as he ages. Henry is eager to please and knows basic commands such as sit, stay, rest, and is working on leave it. He understands other language such as "find your toy" and "do you want to go out?" Henry enjoys belly rubs, being outdoors, and playing in water. He has lived in a one owner home, but he is also very loving with extended family. He has been boarded a few times and has gotten along with other dogs there. His energy for playing with other dogs can be annoying to older, more sedate dogs. When walking on the leash, his first reaction to strangers and other dogs is suspicion with barking. He is walked regularly in pet and hardware stores to become more socialized, but needs continued training. He can pull on the leash when excited. He does not have experience with children. Henry is a beautiful, exuberant dog who needs activity and exercise. It is with great heartache that the current owner is giving him up for adoption, due to relocation.

zuri.JPG

Zuri

Terrier/Pitbull mix, 1 year, Female

Zuri is the most sweetest, loving, playful dog I have ever met. I am a pharmacy student at UNC with a busy schedule and I am looking for her a home where she has more time to play and enjoy her young days. She has so much energy where I think a backyard and children would be perfect. She loves to play catch and chew on her toys. She sleeps in her bed and has a great way of letting you know she wants to go outside (runs to the door). She likes to jump and do unintentional backflips but that’s just how excited she is.

eevee.jpg

Eevee

Cat, under 1 year, Female

Eevee wants to be your best friend! She is a small (~5lbs), floofy purr-monster who loves to be petted, and toys are her favorite! She is still a little unsure about laps and cuddles but we are working on this. Her foster mom has had Eevee ~6wks and no one has claimed or been looking for her. She tolerates other cats but seems to prefer being alone – if there is already a cat present, they will need to be chill/relaxed as Eevee would be the top-cat in the house. She has had no exposure to dogs or kids but would probably be ok with either/both with a proper introduction. She has been spayed and vaccinated (and ear-tipped).

cici (3).jpg

Cici

Labrador/Pitbull mix, 2 years, Female

Personality: Playful and fast, loves to play tug and fetch, likes to tear stuffed animals apart along with cardboard boxes, loves enrichment things like puzzles and hiding treats, likes peanut butter, does not like veggies like carrots and cucumbers. She is particular about her animal friends. She has a high prey drive so she's not good with cats. With other dogs, she can be picky and prefer friends who are bigger. She does not like strangers. She barks at noises and other things like trucks can trigger her fears. History: She was adopted from the Guilford County Animal Shelter when she was about 8 months old. She has been slowly introduced with the cat of the house but they have to be permanently separated because as Cici grew up, she became more interested in chasing the cat. She has graduated from one group behavior class and has had a personal trainer and behavior evaluation. She is well potty-trained and crate-trained. She can easily be walked into the crate by leash or a tasty treat. Meds: She take fluoxetine. She is a fearful dog. Rehoming: Cici does have a bite history (only with me). She can seem very aggressive when she's scared. She needs the right person with the time to work with her in a force-free way.

milo.jpg

Milo

Australian Cattledog/German shorthaired pointer mix, 2.5 years, Male

This is Milo. He is a wonderful mixed breed and the best companion. He loves to be by your side and is always up to go on an adventure with you. He loves to fetch and play with a rope. He will play with a new toy for hours, but never touch your shoes. His favorite thing to do is snuggle and have a good nap, especially if that involves the opportunity to lay on top of you! Well trained and knows all basic commands. As well as potty trained and crate trained. He needs to be rehomed through no fault of his own. There are current owner health conditions that don't allow for him to be fully cared for anymore. He would do well in a home without kids or cats. He gets along great with other dogs, but has never lived full time with one. He would do well with a lower energy dog about his size or bigger. He is a little fearful of new people and will need someone patient, but once he warms up he is the absolute best buddy! Happy to answer any questions!

tina.jpg

Tina

Hound Mix, 3 years, Female

Tina is a rescue dog. She was found in the forest, abandoned and tied to a tree. She was also pregnant. Friends of ours took her in and fostered her until she had her puppies. We then adopted her from them. She was extremely afraid at first and it was difficult to get her to come out of her crate. She is especially afraid of men. We have worked with a trainer and she is now comfortable and sweet with us, but has become aggressive with visitors. She recently became aggressive with our adult autistic son. She would be a good dog for a quiet household. She walks very well on leash. Outside of the house she is not aggressive at all. She loves being in her crate. She is very smart and learns quickly. She also loves being around other dogs and would probably feel safest with other dogs around. On walks she will shy away from people unless they have a dog - then she knows they must be good people!
