Available Pets

Layla
Mix, 3 years, Female
This beautiful dog was found recently, and the folks who found her decided to try to rehome her themselves since many foster and rescue organizations are currently full. She is friendly and loving with humans and dogs. She's a little nervous around some large dogs. She's 40 lbs. She walks on a leash pretty well, even when a young child is holding the leash. She comes with harness and leash included.

Marley
Staffordshire Terrier, 1 year, Female
Marley was born October 31, 2020. She is a love bug to her humans. She loves to chew bones and do zoomies outdoors. She is almost 100% potty trained and only has accidents when super excited. She is healthy with up to date shots. She is crate trained, and her crate is her safe space. She has been loved by her humans, however, she has shown food and toy aggression with other dominant dogs. She chases cats, yet never actually catches them. She would do well in a home with no other dogs or cats, although she doesn't seem to mind submissive dogs and cats that stay away from her. She has never been around little children. She needs to be the center of attention, and needs someone willing to properly train her. She has been DNA tested and is 99% Staffy. She will need a yard to play in, and she is an inside dog only. Her people love her dearly and hope her new home will love her just as much.

Rain
Kitten, 10 weeks, Male
Rain was born to a stray cat his current person has been caring for. His 3 brothers are also ready for their forever homes. Rain truly is a handsome kitty, he has cute white paws and a fluffy white chest. He also loves to sleep. He'll sleep more than play that's for sure. He does seem more afraid of dogs so be cautious if you have any dogs in your home. He gets along great with other cats as well as children.

Raiden
Kitten, 10 weeks, Male
Raiden was born to a stray cat his current person has been caring for. His 3 brothers are also ready for their forever homes. Raiden is a shy boy. He is definitely the quiet one of the bunch; doesn't really do well in loud and busy environments. He is ok with dogs but would thrive in a home without one. With a little more time he will likely become used to attention from children. He is super sweet and has beautiful eyes.

Rai
Kitten, 10 weeks, Male
Rai was born to a stray cat his current person has been caring for. His 3 brothers are also ready for their forever homes. He is absolutely the sweetest cuddle bug ever. All he ever wants to do is be by your side and snuggle on your lap. He is solid grey and is surprisingly calm around his person's big dog. He is also litter trained and gets along great with kids.

Rajah
Kitten, 10 weeks, Male
Rajah was born to a stray cat his current person has been caring for. His 3 brothers are also ready for their forever homes. Rajah is the runt of the litter which means he is also the smallest of his big grey brothers. He almost looks out of place because of his drastically different coat color. However, that doesn't stop him from being the actual boss. He absolutely dominates whatever space he is in. He also lets his presence be known with how loud he is. It is absolutely adorable. Just because he's small doesn't make him any less fun. He is definitely the most playful of his brothers, always wanting to chase, fight, or catch something with his tiny paws. He gets along pretty good with his person's dog and amazingly with children.

Geraldine
Dachshund mix, 6 years, Female
My name is Geraldine. As you can see from my photo, I am a one eyed wonder! I’m 6 years old and love cuddles, chin scratches, and a good stretch. I can take a minute to get used to new people and places but as soon as I sniff things out I’m okay. I am looking for a family with no other animals or kids so I can be a main focus. I am a big homebody and love chilling inside. If you’re ready to relax and cuddle I’m the girl for you!
Geraldine was a rescue when she was a puppy and joined her current family with two of her siblings. When her family moved into a new home, Geraldine developed jealously towards her sister and they have fought. Geraldine needs a home that has no pets or children that can allow her the comfort and attention she needs. She’s never been aggressive towards people, only scared at first, and needs to sniff them out.

Mochi
Cat, 11 years, Male
Mochi is a California cat! His people flew him across country with them when they returned to North Carolina a few years back. He is quite sweet and loves attention and head rubs. He does have a sensitivity to rubbing his back near his tail which makes him flinch and gnaw on his paw. Unfortunately his people have children with allergies and need to give this sweet boy a home where he is free to roam and be loved more than we have been able to provide with the arrival of their children. He is an indoor only cat as he is declawed. His people are hopeful for a living owner who can provide for and love him.

His people would love to keep him but have an older cat who isn't dog friendly. He's so sweet and deserves a happy home.

Chai
German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, 1 year, Female
Chai is a German Shepherd/Collie Mix according to her original owner who is in the military and was deployed. Her current people need to rehome her due to her energy level and the older pets in the home. Chai is a very sweet and loving dog. She needs a large fenced-in yard, or a home far away from the road with little to no traffic so that she can run and play freely. Chai does well with adults and other dogs. Her people are 99% sure she would do well with children, but they haven't had any children interact with her, so cannot say that for sure. She once chased after a cat upon first sight, so if you have cats you'll need to work with Chai on getting her used to them. Chai has not been spayed yet but her people have all of her vet records. Chai is crate trained and comes with her crate, crate blanket, an elevated food bowl and water dish, toys, a leash, and the rest of her items given to us by the original owner. Chai lives in Chatham County. Her people have contacted multiple animal shelters and found them to be either full or weeks away from the next intake day. If you're interested in Chai, her people will need to know what kind of environment she will be living in, and that you have the time, money, and resources to take care of her. Again, she is a high energy breed, so she needs to be able to run and play all of this energy out.

Mr. Moo
Cat, 2 years, Male
Mr. Moo is a biscuit making, purring machine, big boy, lap cat. He wants to be the only cat in your home so as to have all the love and snuggles to himself. He is timid at first but warms up as soon as he knows where the food comes from! Ideally he needs a home where it’s safe for him to sit in the yard from time to time. He doesn’t go far but he loves the fresh air. He does not like to share his food or litter box. He has a sensitive tummy and is doing well on Hill’s Science Diet. A tail injury before he came to us led to a partial tail amputation. It is only cosmetic and he still knows he’s a very handsome boy. He currently lives with a dog and children whom he does very well with.

Gizmo
Cat, 3 years, Female
Gizmo was found as a kitten and has been loved ever since. She loves belly rubs and ear scratches. She is great with dogs, but expects to be alpha with other cats. Gizmo's front paws are de-clawed so she would have to be an inside only cat. Playful and talkative, she will have to have her favorite fish toy when she moves in with you. Her dad will miss her greatly, but he is not able to bring her along on his move. He just wants to find a forever home so she can be happy.

Winter
Husky, 8 months, Female
Winter is super sweet, friendly with children, dogs, and cats alike, and is completely house trained. She can sit, lay down, give her "paws," is great on leash, and more. She loves belly rubs, tennis balls, and playing tug-of-war. While she is lovely & has a ton of personality, somewhere with a house or a yard would be more suitable for her since she loves to explore & roam. She comes with tons of treats, toys, and food as well. She is yet to be spayed, but is up to date on all shots and grooming. She just went through her heat cycle, too, so an appointment could be made prior to her repeating that process!

Frejya
Cat, 7 years, Female
Frejya's owner passed away unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism. She is solid black and petite. Very affectionate. Luckily her vet has agreed to keep her until she finds a new home, but cannot keep her permanently. Frejya was an indoor/outdoor cat, but would be fine indoors only. Frejya was loved dearly and can hopefully find love again.

Bossman
American Pit Bull, 10 months, Male
Aka "Boss". He's been with his people since he was 3 weeks old but they are moving to a place with breed restrictions. He is very playful and loves to run. He is great with the family's 6 year old but still isn't aware of how big he is, which is about 45 pounds. He loves bottles of any kind and will steal your water bottle if you don't watch out! He's a great family dog.

Louie
Cat, 2 years, Male
Louie showed up about 6-7 weeks ago and, feeling sorry for him, his current caretaker fed him, vetted him, and gave him a place to hang out figuring he would eventually move on. He has stayed and sleeps all day on their back porch. Their other 3 cats are not fans of him (all female) and he really needs another place to live. He is very vocal, loves attention, and crawling in a lap. He would make someone a good indoor/outdoor cat or straight outdoor as long as he has a good place to sleep and food to eat.

Goldie
Pit bull, 2 years, Female
Goldie was rescued from an abandoned rental house. Best guess is her owners couldn't take her to their next location but took the smaller dog in the home (as reported by a neighbor). Goldie would sit on the uncovered porch of the rental house where she was abandoned. Sooo very sad!!! When she was rescued and while on the way to the vet, she was trying to lick and love on her rescuer. While waiting at the vet she wanted to greet every human and animal that came in . No signs of aggression at all. She was at the vet for a week where she was dewormed, bathed, and treated for fleas and ticks. She is not spayed but is up to date on all her shots and is good with other dogs. Fortunately she found a foster home but as of 7/15//22 that family will no longer be able to foster her. We can provide the history of that vet visit.

Kittens
Kittens, 3 months - 1 year, Male and Female
The owner of these kittens has had 3 barn yard cats deliver 4 babies each this year. The cats are getting neutered, however the kittens need homes. There are (4) 1 year old males, (2) 4 month old males, (1) 4 month old female, and (2) 3 month old females. These are all very sweet and loving kittens and are social - they were brought inside after birth and raised by people. Most all are black and white; a couple are gray and white. All will need to have vet appointments and vaccines.

Jasmine
Rabbit, 4 years, Female
Jasmine has malocclusion, a dental condition where her incisors don't line up, so her teeth don't get worn down and grow very long. You can trim them yourself, but ideally she would have vet visits to file them down or surgery to remove the affected teeth. Her owner's a college student and doesn't have the resources to get her the care that she needs. Jasmine feels safest in her cage and is shy when it comes to leaving the cage, but she would like having room to explore and would open up more if she had that. She is a Lionhead with long, woolly fur, so she needs to be brushed regularly.

Sophie
Lab Mix, 5 years, Female
Sophie was adopted when she was 2, and from the minute she got in the car she was an absolute cuddle bug. She thinks she’s a lap dog and wants to be with people all day. She is very intelligent and learns quickly. She does well with people and cats. Other dogs make her nervous, and cause her to act skittish. She loves naps, food, and playing.

Clementine
Lion Mane mixed Rabbit, 2 years, Female
Clementine is shy and skittish at first, but once you get to know her she’ll be more comfortable around you. Her favorite fruits are raspberries and strawberries. She also loves her stuffed frog (which will go with her after adoption). Dozer
Dogo Argentino, 5 years, Male
Dozer is a loving dog that needs a good, loving home. He is great with other animals. He would love to be in a home with children who would hug him and love him like a big teddy bear. He came from a home with two young children and adored them. He would fit right in with kids that like to play outside and run in the woods. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal and he shouldn't be left alone all day. He is pretty good on a leash. He also loves to nap and would enjoy having his own bed. He is house trained. He does need a high protein diet, like Blue Buffalo, and eats a lot. Dozer will need to go to the vet for a heart worm test that will also check for tick born illness. He needs monthly meds for flee, tick, and heartworm prevention. And he definitely needs a good physical and all his updated shots. He does have his rabies. His current caretaker is requesting a $200 fee that will be paid directly to the vet upon an adopter taking Dozer to the vet.

Ophelia
Border Collie Mix, 4 years, Female
Ophelia is a goofy, sporty pup who enjoys walks, hiking, and snuggling with her owners. She requires a fair amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation to be at her best, which is common for her breed. Ophelia is extremely smart and has a very sweet disposition towards humans. She is not the best with the toddler in her current home. She does not interact nicely with other pets, and will need to be the only dog in a household. She still has some leash reactivity, despite successfully completing a training program designed to improve her social behavior. She loves to cuddle, play tug with, and kiss her caregivers!

Boo and Jasmine
Cats, 10 years, Male & Female
Boo (male, black) and Jasmine (female, tabby) are brother and sister from the same litter. Both are fixed. They are very loving and sweet cats but are really shy. They will take some time to warm up to a new owner. They spend most of the day sleeping under the guest bed. They are very self sufficient. Once they warm up to you they enjoy being pet and brushed. They don’t get on the furniture but prefer laying under things like beds. They are indoor cats only and must remain so. Also, it’s a requirement they stay together. They come with food, bowls, brushes, litter box, litter genie, refills, and a double cat carrier.
Their owner has had them from when they were kittens, however, they been suffering with severe allergy symptoms for several years and within the last year they have become so severe that the owner has been suffering from chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. Doctors say that these dangerous illnesses will continue and possibly develop long term issues such as asthma if Boo and Jasmine remain in the home. Their owner loves them dearly and wants to find the perfect home for them.

Puppy
Mixed breed, 8 months, Female
This gorgeous mixed breed girl came to us as a foundling a few months ago. She is around 8 months old and 45 pounds. She’s crate trained and house trained, spayed and up to date on her vaccines and vet care. She has very short hair and sheds minimally. She is very sweet and loving, and she does great with kids. She knows basic commands (sit, heel) and does pretty well on the leash. She’s always excited for a walk and enjoys swimming the most! We were open to keeping her but unfortunately she and our other rescue have been having increasing conflicts. For both of their safety and health, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her. Please let us know if you think you might be her forever family!

Maisey
Cat, 6 years, Female
My partner and I are moving in together and it is with a heavy heart that I must re-home my cat, Maisy. Will you be her new parent? She is 6 years old and in good health. Maisy is a typical cat with a curious nature and a raspy meow. She has the softest long white fur with black markings, light green eyes, and short Munchkin legs. She likes to wake up between 6:00 - 8:00am. She spends her days sleeping in a flat box on my desk. She likes companionship but is not a lap cat and does not like rowdy children. She has lived with other cats and dogs without issues. She has been taking Bravecto so she can go outside, but she always stays close. She has good bathroom habits, keeps her fur clean, and recently got her teeth cleaned.

Jack
Mixed Breed, 2 years, Female
Jack is a young female dog of unknown, mixed breed. She is extremely playful and loves to cuddle up to you on the couch. She was originally found as a stray puppy and was taken in by my mother. Unfortunately she has since passed, and I am unable to care for additional dogs (I have 2) myself. She loves to play with other dogs, but can be somewhat reactive with other female dogs (although she currently lives with a female). I believe she would get along well with another female once they become well habituated. Currently spayed and up to date on all vaccines. Jack is incredibly sweet, and I wish I could take her myself but I don't have the space. If you can give her a home, you won't regret it!

Brutus
Labrador, 12 years, Male
Hi. My name is Brutus (a.k.a. Brutty) and I am a 12-year-old black/chocolate lab mix. Some people also call me Prancer because when I’m excited I can’t help but prance around, stepping high and showing off my moves. My human passed away a couple of months ago and I’m super lonely and looking for a forever family. Not only am I crate trained, house safe, and leash trained, but I can also double as someone’s pillow if you need one on the couch or on your bed. I’m also great with kids, other dogs, cats, rabbits, and even stuffed animals (that’s my best friend lion in the picture!). I have soft brown eyes, big floppy ears and jowls, and a powerful tail that can double as a drum. I don’t drool and I don’t shed very much. I’m mostly low key and mellow. My perfect match would be someone who will let me live inside and take me out for walks or to run around. If someone would play with me with a rawhide chewy I’d love you forever! Wouldn’t you like to play, dance and prance with me?
