Bohdi

bodhi.jpeg

Cat, 18 months, Male

Bohdi is a spunky 18-month old male tuxedo cat. He is incredibly intelligent, loves playing with toys, will play fetch with his silicone toothbrush and loves watching for deer and birds on the screened-in porch in my backyard. He likes to follow you around the house to watch you do laundry, or just day-to-day tasks; he will be your buddy. He is front-paw declawed, so he is an indoor kitty and uses soft litter in his litter box. Bohdhi loves food and eats a combo of wet and dry food. He was seen by the vet in August 2023 for his yearly shots and is in perfect health. I am making the difficult decision to rehome Bohdi because for the past 9-months he has not adjusted well to the second cat in my home. He has become very territorial of the house and isn't getting along with the other cat. I have consulted with my veterinarian, tried medications, separating both animals, and ultimately, I think that finding a great, cat-free home, where he can be loved without the stress of another cat in the home, will be the best option for him. He would do best in a larger home where he has space to play, and I think he would love to be in a house that has older kids, or maybe even a larger dog that can give him a run for his money. He's very interested in what people are doing, so if there is a lot going on in your home, I think he fit right in. He loves greeting people at the door, especially new people and is pretty friendly overall. I really want Bohdi to be happy, and I am looking to find the right fit for him.

Mali

Mali - 1.jpg

Cat, 6 years, Female

Hello - this is Mali (molly). Mali is a sweet and gentle cat. She enjoys playing and being scratched, although she is not a lap kitty. Although she is middle-aged, she still has some kitten-play in her. She enjoys chasing lasers and shadows and watching birds in the window. Mali is well-trained and has been good around our other cat and our two small children. She is shy with new places and new people but is friendly to all after getting familiar. We would love to keep Mali, but our second cat (Togo) who is older and bigger, has become aggressive towards Mali. We will be sad to see her rehomed, but we know she needs a place where she can live without fear of another cat's aggression.

Indie

indie.JPG

Cat, 5 years, Female

Indie is a pure joy to be around. She is sweet, snuggly, calm and always excited about her food and treats! She does well with some (very) tame and laid back kitties- but we've found that she mostly thrives in a home with other dogs or perhaps solo. She has always been an indoor cat and loves to play fetch with the right ball. (Really, she does!) Unfortunately, our senior cat and her have become unfriendly and we are unable to accommodate them both while staying here with us. This decision has been such a hard one, but we are hoping to find her a nice quiet space to live her best life. Her favorite hobbies include sunbathing, playing fetch, eating treats and rolling in cat-nip. She is an avid seeker of affection and loves to tell you all about it! Before adoption she will be up to date on her vaccinations and in tip-top shape.

Murdock

murdock.jpeg

Cat, 1 year, Male

We found Murdock last year on Halloween. He was very sick and lost his eyesight. So we named him Matt Murdock after the blind superhero. He’s grown up with other cats and my two kids. He is wicked sweet and cuddly. Murdock is also a bit dramatic and loud lol. Murdock is well socialized and used to go to work with me. The only issue is Murdock and one of our older cats do not get along and he bullies her. He has stopped with the other two older cats but our older female Margret will not stand her ground and has become very nervous and hides. We love to bits but feel all the cats should feel safe and happy.

Ivy

ivy.jpeg

Akita Mix, 1 year, Female

We re regrettably having to rehome our sweet Ivy due to some personal family things going on. She's a 1 year old akita mix. Ivy has done great with our other 2 dogs in the house. She's also done incredibly well with our children. Ivy is a bit skittish when meeting new people. She'll bark at them for about 10 minutes before deciding they're ok. She has NEVER bit anyone. She is a jumper when you walk into the house. If you tell her to go get her baby, she'll grab a toy and bring it to you so she stops jumping and you can pet her. She does get overexcited in that moment and will grab your arm with her mouth (again it's NEVER a bite) as a way to bring you down to her so she can see you and you can love on her.

Cheyanne

cheyanne (2).jpg

Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler, 4 years, Female

Cheyenne is a 4-year-old Australian cattle dog/blue heeler. We rescued her when she was a year old. She was a stray and may have a history of abuse. According to her microchip, she has been in the pound once (so she is already spayed). When we first got Cheyenne, she was scared of everything, but now she is a lot more confident. We worked on her training so she does not jump up onto tables, couches, etc. if you do not want her to. She does well riding in the back seat of a car. She is very receptive to command training. Currently she can sit, lay down, roll over, and spin and you can ask her for her “ball” or “antler” and she will know exactly what you are talking about. We started her off sleeping in the bed with us, but for over a year she has her own bed that we keep outside of our room (she does not cry, or tear up the house when you leave her at night or during the day). She is potty trained and does not pee in the house when left for multiple hours while we are at work. Her personality really came out with us. It still takes some time for her to open up to new people, but she is very loyal and protective. She loves being outside, playing frisbee, going on walks, and tennis balls. She would probably thrive in a single dog household with no small children as she still needs some training to prevent nipping new people (she is a herding dog). Must have experience with similar breed as they require a lot of patience and attention. It breaks our hearts to be rehoming her, but with a baby on the way and being in a small apartment we want her to go to someone where she can be outside more and have a "job."

Kenzy

kenzy.jpeg

Pitbull, 6 years, Male

Unfortunately I am looking to rehome my 6 year old rescue male pitbull due to personal reasons . He’s coming from a very loving home but needs to find his forever loving home. His name is Kenzy and he is heartworm positive but no worries he is on medication and it is non contagious to other animals. He’s very good with kittens, cats, other dogs and especially children. He knows how to sit, go crate, shake, speak, go potty and other tricks. He is training to be off leash. He is a very good listener when it comes to new tricks and qualifies as an ESA animal. He is crate and potty trained. He loves playing, sleeping, suntanning and cuddles. He’s up to date on his vaccines and has his next few paid ahead. He has no aggression and is very silly. Unfortunately he injured his left paw from what the vets speculate was done as a puppy and it never healed correctly so he occasionally limps but has medication for it as well. This does not stop him from going on hikes or playing !

Slinky

slinky.jpeg

Cat, 10 years, Male

We're trying to find a forever home for Slinky where he can run and play and snuggle up with a microfiber blanket to make biscuits on. We adopted him from Wake County, where they estimated his age to be 10, but he definitely doesn't act like it! He loves to play with toys and rubber bands alike and bird watch on a screened in porch. He is very trusting, docile, and gentle with people and melts in their arms when they pick him up. We love him so much, but unfortunately he is not getting along well with one of our other cats. He gets along great with our other calmer senior cat and dog and he often snuggles up with them for naps. The other more dominant cat and and him just seem to clash, so we're trying to find him a new home where he can be just as loved but also feel a little less anxious. Before we adopted him, he'd been in the shelter for 9 months, so he's been looking for a forever home for a while. We want to find him a new home where he'll be loved and well cared for.

Puck

puck.jpeg

Cat, 6 years, Male

Stretch and Puck are two brothers who were adopted from Independent Animal Rescue in January, 2019. They’ve been good companions for us since, but we are now moving to a place that has other animals that won't accept them.  We tried rehoming them with IAR but they’ve advised finding an alternative home. Both cats were born approximately 5/7/2018, both have AKC microchips, are up to date with vaccines and have received regular care from VCA Timberlyne Animal Hospital in Chapel Hill. They are litter-trained and always indoor, though they spend hours studying birds through the window. We've loved them dearly and are sad we can't take them along.

Simone

simone.jpeg

Cat, 9 years, Female

Hello, please help me to rehome my dearest cat, Simone. Loving Simone has been with me since 2015, when I adopted her from Orange County Rescue. She was three months old and adorable. She's incredibly social, talkative, and smart. She's mostly an inside cat, but I allow her to "go" outside and spend time on the deck. She knows how to use a litter box and learned to ring a bell to ask me to open the door for her. She's neutered, has a microchip (Petlink), and takes Revolution Plus for fleas and ticks. On the downside, she can be clingy, is overweight, and the worst is that she was diagnosed with FIV four years ago. However, she has had all her vaccines and annual check-ups and hasn't shown any symptoms (medical records available). FIV-positive cats can live a perfectly normal life.

Hera

1000001196.jpg

Shepherd/Husky Mix, 1 year, Female

Due to a unforeseen life event, this sweet girl needs to find a new home. She is extremely loving and enjoys being around people. She is happy to grab a bone and lay down by you and chew it. Of course with being part Husky she is vocal when excited. She does have a high prey drive so will not do well with cats or other small animals. She does well with children, but if gotten too excited will jump up possibly knocking over a really small child. Our son is eight and has not knocked him over, just jumped up on him. She doesn’t do that normally, just when really excited. With some training this can be corrected. Is potty and crate trained. Please let me know if you would like additional information, more pictures, or if you are interested in meeting this sweetie.

Luigi

luigi.png

Cat, 2 years, Female

I'm here to market the cutest cat in the entire world! Luigi came to us at 4 weeks old in September of 2022. She (yes Luigi is a she, our vet first thought she was a boy) is the most beautiful, sweet, social and cuddly cat I have ever had. Unfortunately, Luigi has a urinary incontinence issue that has stumped an arsenal of vets and neurologists across the state. We believe the ideal situation for such a social cat is to be on a farm with a heated barn in which she can interact with other animals, roam free but still have a warm place to sleep and eat. Luigi currently lives with two dogs and another female cat. She is the most happy when she's running around the backyard with the dogs. Her personality is somewhat similar to a dog honestly. She's always happy to see you, wants to be near you and always ready to play.

Nahla

Nahla 1.jpg

Boxer/Pit, 1 year, Female

I'm fostering Nahla because my ex-husband passed away. She's 1 year old and was raised on a farm. She's very respectful to other animals and is wonderful with kids. Nahla would be suited with someone who has a fenced yard so she can run. She's outdoors 50% of the time. She's trained to sit, down, and stay. She's great for walking. Always stays on my right side and doesn't pull. My neighbor is a jogger, and he's been taking her on his morning runs. I'm in an apartment and can only keep her for two months. Nahla has a calm and sweet demeanor.

Tom

tom.jpg

Cat, 3 years, Male

Tom was abandoned by his original owners of the house I just purchased. I know very little about Tom but with the past month I have lived here. He seems to be a bit nervous but he wants affection. If I crouch down to the ground and hold out my hand, he will meow come close and then flop over for belly rubs. However, when I start to get close to him he then tenses up and gets nervous. He will need a house that is quiet and patient.

Bella

bella.jpeg

Cat, 5 years, Female

Bella is an affectionate kitty, she will purr loudly and loves pets. She can be a bit skiddish when people are walking around her but tends to come around when you are lounging around. She gets along well with our 2 dogs and 2 other cats. She hasn't shown much interest in toys but does love a good treat. Her main issue is that sometimes she chooses not to pee in the box and goes to another area to pee on the carpet. We have tried offering her multiple locations for boxes and it still happens. She is a great kitty, I think she needs the opportunity to have multiple litter box locations and minimal carpet areas to really succeed. She has always loved the dogs and usually tends to play with the dogs more then the cats.

Solo

Beagle, 10 months, Male

We got Solo from a farm when he was two months old. He is ten months now. I believe would thrive in a home with a yard for him to run, or a person that can take him on runs with them, or to the dog park daily. I think he'd do best with a pretty regular schedule. He is an extremely sweet and loving guy. He is very active and wants lots of attention. He wants to be friends with everyone he meets (people and other dogs, included). He hasn't been around any cats yet.

Shepard

shepherd.jpg

Beagle Mix, 7-9 years, Female

Hi My Name is Shepard! My current family took me in 2 years ago when I had no place else to go. They have given me love, safety, health care, friends, family in addition to a good home. My family recently welcomed a baby into the home which makes me fearful, as I do much better in calm homes with adults and older relaxed dogs. I also can be fearful when lots of people are around because I worry they don't see me when they walk past me. I love homes with adults who like to go for walks outside and don't mind my company around the house.
