groot.png

Groot

German Short Haired Pointer Mix, 1year, Male

Groot is a high energy but loving dog, who is house and crate trained, and is very intelligent, learning many commands, like sit, lay down, roll over, etc. He still needs work on recall, but he is working towards it! Groot needs companionship with another dog that will rough play with him, run fast, be outside and snuggle. He would thrive with a slightly older dog that is already trained. He is great learning boundaries from older dogs, and respects them when corrected. It would be ideal if he had space to run outside, freely, within a fenced in yard or enclosure. He is food motivated, loves treats, and will also follow his nose to find the tastiest crumb or snack left behind at home. He is very loyal and snuggly, wanting to attach himself like velcro to a caring owner or family. He has learned how to play with our kids, but is a large dog, that is still learning his own strength, so would do well with older children (above the age of 6/7.) Groot would benefit from an active family that wants to work with him, daily, and that has another dog (or two) that he could learn jobs or help out around the house with during the week. Our family dynamic has changed, and we are looking to rehome Groot to a loving and caring family that can truly satisfy his needs.

Tofu and Mr. Business

Cats, 1 year, Male

I have two boy cats (both ~1 year old, and neutered, up to date with shots)(i’d like to keep them together as they have bonded). their names are tofu and mr. business (aka tofs and busy). busy is a tuxedo kitty and is a very curious boy that will watch your every move, he loves to play, and will greet whoever comes over to your place, and he purrs whenever it’s a meal time. tofu is my sensitive boy, who i believe can see into other dimensions, and he loves to cuddle at night- sleeping very close to your body. he also loves rubbing against your legs as your standing, he is very cautious, and he’s protective of his little brother. they like to chase each other around and can get pretty rowdy! they also love making biscuits, and can make the blankets damp from them sucking on them. they have transformed me from a night owl to a morning bird- waking me up at 5am, that’s the one thing i will warn about them, hopefully i will can an owner that is also a morning bird. i also have an automatic kitty litter box that i’m happy to donate, and the boys are very comfortable using it.

gunny.jpg

Gunny

Cat, 6 years, Male

This is Gunny—my beautiful, snuggly 6-year-old cat. He’s a domestic short hair, neutered, and fully up-to-date on his vaccinations. Gunny is the definition of a cuddlebug. He loves curling up next to you, watching the world go by from the window, and playing with catnip toys. He’s great with kids, and I believe he’d do well with other pets too. He truly thrives when he’s near someone—he just wants to be loved and to give love in return. Important Note: Gunny has always been a strictly indoor cat and needs to stay that way for his safety and wellbeing. What comes with Gunny: Litter box and litter, Flea treatment, A month of food to get you started. Why I’m rehoming him: I’m facing a move where I can’t bring him with me, and it breaks my heart. I’m not just looking for any home—I’m hoping to find someone who will adore him the way I do.

Sammy is a 9 year old sweet and loving pup. She loves people and naps along with the occasional walk. She also loves a good stuffed toy. ronan.png

Ronan

Cat, 2 years, Male

Ronan (Rony) is a handsome, playful young cat, born around July 1, 2023. He is engaged, purrs loudly when his human is nearby, and loves a good belly rub. He is a great big brother to Peter Rabbit (Petey), whom I hope is adopted with him. Ronan has no known medical conditions, was neutered when I adopted him at three months old, and had his annual shots in Oct. 2024. He has lived indoors and on a screened-in porch; he has not been all the way outside, but might do well, if in a rural setting. I must rehome him and his brother because I have had a change in my family situation, and am very sorry that I will not have room for them.

Peter Rabbit (Petey) is a beautiful, playful young cat, born around July 1, 2023. He is curious, purrs when scratched at the rump of his tail, and loves to chase a stringed toy under a blanket. ollie.jpg

Ollie

Pit mix, 10 months, Male

Ollie is a loveable goofball. He loves to be cuddled and babied. He is a friend to everyone he meets but takes a minute to warm up to new people. Ollie was a stray that was hit by a car when he was about 10 weeks old. We found him on the side of the road and took him to the vet. After about 6 weeks at the vet wearing a helmet to heal the crack in his head, he made a full recovery with no lasting health issues. This dog is 100% dog. He loves to run around outside and roll in the dirt. He loves to chase squirrels and birds that come into our yard. We have a short fence, and he often jumps over to escape. We love Ollie to death, but we just don't have the means to take care of him between my work travel, our small house, and our 3-year-old. He is good with kids, but I recommend him be rehomed with older children. When he gets zooming, he often forgets how powerful he is, and our son gets knocked down. We do have a cat, and they do get along, but he plays a little too rough, so we have to supervise them when they play together. He has been with other dogs and gets along quite well, but it might be a hard adjustment for him being rehomed with a new dog. Ollie also lets you know when he wants something. If he needs to go to the bathroom, he will bark to let you know and will continue to until you take him out. If he wants something and doesn't get his way, he will sulk in the corner and whine until you pity him with cuddles. He is a good dog; he just isn't a good fit for us, but he might be for you!!!

Strawberry

Kitten, 1 month, Female

Meet Strawberry! My husband found this kitten in the middle of highway 64 scared and shaking. He immediately stopped to get her before she was run over. We already have several pets and cannot keep this sweet baby so we are hoping to find her a loving home! Strawberry is approximately 1 month old. We have given her flea baths and wormer and she is already litter box trained. After only 24 hours with us, she already loves to snuggle in our laps and looks for our attention and her toys! We have other older cats and a dog and she does not seem intimidated by any of them. Strawberry will make some lucky person/family a loving companion! Please contact us if you or someone you know is interested in adopting Strawberry.

capricorn and strike.jpeg

Capricorn & Strike

Cats, 6 & 5 years, Male

Capricorn (black, 6 years old) and Strike (gray, 5 years old) are two bonded, neutered male cats we’ve loved and raised since they were tiny kittens. They were born to feral moms and have come a long way from their wild beginnings. While they aren’t your typical cuddly lap cats, they each have their own quiet charm and are most comfortable when they can just be - with the option of human company on their own terms. They are independent & low-maintenance and enjoy spending time near people (especially kids, who seem to do better with them than adults) but not in direct physical contact with people. Strike is a little more social, while Capricorn is shy and prefers to keep his distance. Neither of them likes being picked up, and snuggling isn’t their thing - but they might surprise the right person with their loyalty and curiosity, given time and space. Ideally, we’re looking for a rural or semi-rural home where they can live as indoor-outdoor cats, with access to shelter and someone who respects their boundaries. They would thrive in a calm, patient environment where their independence is seen as a feature, not a flaw. We’re rehoming them due to increasing issues with local feral cats and wildlife being drawn to our porch during feeding times. It’s become unsustainable for us, and we want these boys to have a safer, more peaceful setup. If you have a soft spot for independent animals with unique spirits - and a safe space for two bonded buddies to call home - we’d love to hear from you.

roscoe.jpeg

Roscoe

Pit, 12 years, Male

Roscoe is a sweet older boy who is in good health and up to date on vaccinations. He has been with me for about a month and loves walks, car rides, food/treats and getting cozy on the couch or bed! He will also be happy on his dog bed on the floor but prefers being up where humans love to lounge. He’s not a fan of crates but does fine home alone. He only barks when he really wants your attention or if the cat is playing hide and seek. He’s easy going and gets around well! I live on the second floor and he does great going up and down my stairs and can easily jump up into the car or onto my lifted bed. He’s never lived in a home with kids but has shown no reactivity towards them on walks or in public settings. He loves people and loves the dog park although sometimes wants to act like he’s top dog and do a little posturing/humping. Mostly he just wants to chill and give love and plenty of pitty kisses. He’s looking for a permanent place to land after his dad became unable to care for him due to losing housing.

bobbie (2).jpg

Bobbie

Cat, 9 months, Female

Hi, I'm Bobbie, the Sweet Black Cat! After leaving an unstable home in Hillsborough, I was fostered by a kind couple and have been living and purring with them for the last couple of weeks now. I'm gently curious about other cats, and while my foster sister doesn't like me, I'd still like to be her friend. How am I with dogs, though? I'm easy and kind! I've had the opportunity to greet, sniff, and relax with other dogs in my previous home and in my foster home. My foster parents praise me for being just the sweetest despite my shy nature to new faces, as I highly enjoy ear and back scratches while I find a comfortable place to lay on or next to you. When I'm not receiving love and pets, I am quite playful and curious and out to chase toys around the house, peep into closets, and lounge in the occasional armoire. My foster parents updated my rabies and vaccines on May 23rd, 2025, and I have been spayed. For further details on me, my background, or my penchant for Dark Magic, please reach out to my foster parents at the email address provided, and I hope to meet you soon!

Tucker

Walker Tree Hound, 4 years, Male

Tucker is his name, and playing is his game. Tucker is about the sweetest dog you will ever come across, although he still has a lot of puppy in him, so he likes to run and play. He is about four years old, and unfortunately for poor Tucker, his human parents (my in-laws) both passed recently. My husband and I don't have the room for him as he take a lot of land to roam. He loves to be outside. We are working with walking him on a leash and as far as we know he has never had his shots. We really want Tucker to go to a wonderful loving forever home, because he truly deserves it. He's good with kids and other dogs, and I believe cats as he used to have one living with him.

sombra (3).jpeg

Sombra

Retriever Mix, 7 months, Female

Sombra was adopted at our local shelter less than 30 days ago & our private landlord made us aware that we are unable to have a pit (she is retriever mix on paper but has the look/stance of a pit hence this post). Attempted to return to the shelter per landlord request, shelter is now at capacity. Need to rehome her ASAP! She is extremely sweet & extremely smart she catches up with her trainings so well. She goes with me to the office every day & occasionally barks if someone comes in too fast, never bit anyone or anything. She has stayed in a crate at home twice while I’m at work & she has been wonderful. needs some practice with loose leash walking. Knows sit, bed, her name, touch - learning down, leave it, & gentle. She will come with a crate, snacks, her harness & leash, her blanket, her toys/stuffies. We hate to rehome her but we were not made aware of the breed restriction until a week after we got her. Nothing on the lease & nothing was made aware when asked before we rented the place.

Kittens

9 weeks, Female

UPDATE: 1 FEMALE ALL BLACK KITTEN LEFT!

Three kittens - two are all black and one is a tuxedo. I think they are all girls, but it should become clearer soon. They're 9 weeks old as of 6/21. In good health and were born and raised in our home. Very active and good with humans (they like to play and also will come snuggle up on your lap) as we have two busy little boys who have been playing with them since birth. We are willing to separate them, but if you are willing to take more than one they do enjoy playing with one another. They may be good with dogs too, I just don't know because we don't have one.

Nala

Golden Aussie, 8 months, Female

I rescued Nala from less than desirable situation. She was mostly crated, not housebroken, not trained, has fleas which have since been remediation. Owner did not have medical history from previous owner. Nala is underweight, NOT a picky eater. She got out of my yard and almost into a busy street. She just needs a younger person or family that can offer her the training and walks she needs. I'm a senior citizen with health issues. If she had been housetrained and couldn't get out of my yard, I might have kept her. She's already learned to sit and stay a little. Very trainable. Sweet girl.

Orange Kitty & Ember

Cats, 4.5 years, Female

Are you looking for two delightful feline friends to bring joy and conversation into your home? Look no further than this sweet duo seeking a loving, stable forever home! These two charming girls are both spayed and up-to-date on vaccines, ensuring they're healthy and ready to settle in. A fantastic bonus for allergy sufferers: they've been fed a special diet that makes them hypoallergenic (and it truly works!). They're also tidy housemates, using flushable tofu litter. While both are technically calicos, they each sport unique disguises! Orange kitty presents as a stunning orange tabby with a distinctive "Tar Heel" marking on her front left paw. She's quite the conversationalist, expressing her happiness with chirps during pets and to get your attention. Ember looks like a beautiful tortie, complete with a white "tux" and adorable "sock" markings. She's always up for a full-on chat, ready to engage you in delightful feline discussions. Orange kitty and Ember are a source of great joy, loving a good snuggle and an excuse to zoom around or look at birds out the window. They're looking for a family who can provide them with a stable and happy environment, as their current owner's future travel plans mean they can't provide the consistent home these sweet cats deserve. If you or someone you know is interested in opening your heart and home to these wonderful, vocal, and loving companions, please reach out!

Eve.jpg

Eve

Staffordshire Terrier, 5 years, Female

I am looking to rehome Eve, my 5yo "Radar-Ears" female American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull), whom I adopted from OC Animal Shelter 9 months ago. Eve is a loving, obedient and respectful girl. She listens to my teenage daughter and girlfriend, as well as me (alpha), exhibiting no signs of hierarchical obedience issues I have seen from other dogs. Like most pitbulls, she is eager for attn from her human(s) and very affectionate and snuggly. She is highly food driven, and has shown zero signs of resource/food guarding, even in the presence of other dogs. She does not resist when taking away food/treats that aren't designed to be enjoyed in one sitting. She is a good watch dog as well, becoming very vocal when anyone approaches the house. That said, she is nothing but happiness and joy to anyone whom walks through the door (even if I am not present when they arrive). She is a fan of toys, enjoying time daily with her various bones, kong, and rope pull (if you have the energy to pull against her and hold on while she whips to and fro..... She Strong!!). During my time with her, Eve has spent countless hours with my girlfriends male Chihuahua, often alone for the day, so she is definitely good with other dogs when introduced appropriately. She is a bit selfish in wanting my attn (vs me giving it to other dog), but i would expect she would do just fine in a family with more than one dog, especially a bigger dog that she can play more physically with. I have had 4 pitbulls over the past 20 years, and dogs my whole 50 year life, and she is FAR AND AWAY the best snuggler to sleep with I've ever experienced (big reason why she has lasted as long as she has with me). She enjoys being in bed AND under the covers with her human/humans. I have not tried to train her off the bed so I cannot speak to how she might respond to that effort. Eve has some minor skin sensitivity, common for white fur pit bulls, easily treated/maintained with consistent diet and periodic oatmeal based shampoo baths. Otherwise is in great health, with regular heartworm and flea/tick meds administered. Why Eve needs a new home: Eve is a big girl, 70-75 pounds, a brut force. She is very prey driven, and has exhibited leash aggression towards other dogs (I have never let her close enough while on leash to see if she would actually attack). We live in a densely populated neighborhood with many other dog owners, so an average walk will have us encounter 3-5 dogs along the way. Because of her strength and size she is very difficult to handle in these situations, as well as when she sees squirrels or deer. I am a 6' 175lb fit male and she has taken me down completely twice, and whipped herself in frenzy almost taking me down and often causing me slight injury (leg, wrist, arm) countless times. Additionally, Eve is not a 'traveler'. Rides in the car and time spent in new places brings out excessive anxiety in her, making her skittish, neurotic, and very vocal with whines that make even the most resilient cringe. I have spent 9 months trying to quell this behavior through both training and medication, but none have proved successful. Eve would live her best life with an owner/family where she is loved, where she has a big yard to roam and exercise in, in a less densely populated area where walks won't encounter so many other animals. She'll also flourish with an owner/family that either doesn't require her to travel with them, or whom can afford to have her housesat during those travels. Unfortunately we've reached the part of the summer where the heat has me (norther boy) literally running for the hills as often as possible, and Eve is not capable of this amount of travel, and unfortunately I am not financially able to afford getting her in-home care for all my escapes from the heat. I love her, but have reached the point where I have to admit she would have a better life with a different owner/family, and the point where I cannot stop living my life because of her special needs. Please reach out with any questions you may have and happy to set-up meeting with her so you can experience all her good for yourself. I can supply a host of eve specific supplies, including her meds for the next 5 months.

Blue

Lab Mix, 6 years, Male

Dog needing a new home asap - military family due to their new orders is not able to bring him with to where they are being moved to for their new station. He’s a good guard dog (will bark and sounds scary) but is sweet, cuddly and great with kids. He’s crate trained and doesn’t chew beds or toys (he will counter surf though that’s why he’s got some Extra lbs he’s trying to lose) He can take a bit to warm up to new dogs, especially on leash but loves people and has a lot of dog friends once he’s used to them and is a great addition especially for someone with land and space! If anyone knows anyone who would be a good fit please reach out - the family is moving soon and would really like to avoid the shelter but are between a rock and a hard place. This is not my dog, this is a courtesy post - please feel free to dm me with any questions! The other dogs in the pictures are from adventure days he goes on, they all have homes.

Freya

German Shepherd Mix, 5 months, Female

I’m reaching out today regarding a puppy that was brought into our home last week. While we truly care for her and had high hopes of welcoming her as part of our family, we’ve had to make the very difficult decision to find a more suitable home for her. Our current situation — including work schedules, parenting responsibilities, and other family dynamics — has made it clear that we’re unable to give her the time, structure, and attention she deserves. We’re heartbroken about this, because we know she’s a sweet and loving dog, but we don’t want her to suffer from a lack of consistency or care. We’re hoping to surrender her to a home or shelter that can provide her with the environment and support she needs to thrive. She’s 5 months old,  she was listed as a German shepherd however we think she has husky and boxer mix, her Name is Freya she is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed . She is currently working on potty training and is treat motivated. She knows Sit, lay down and working on Stay she is EXTREMELY SWEET AND SMART. She is great with kids. She most likely needs to go to a home without Cats.
