Bean
Cat, 4 months, Male
I adopted Bean after fostering him and his littermate for a month. He was adopted from OCAS and has been great with other cats and dogs. A month after adopting Bean, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and I have to financially support my family with any means I can. That unfortunately means I have to find Bean and his sister Fig a new home. Fig and Bean would love to stay together but they would also do great on their own or with other animals in the home!

Fig
Cat, 4 months, Female
I adopted Fig after fostering her and her littermate for a month. She was adopted from OCAS at 2 months old and has been great with other cats and dogs. A month after adopting Fig (and brother Bean), my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and I have to financially support my family with any means I can. That unfortunately means I have to find Fig and her brother Bean a new home. Fig and Bean would love to stay together but they would also do great on their own or with other animals in the home! Fig loves cuddling up on you and sleeping while you do work or making biscuits while you take a nap.

Cat
Cat, 1 year, Male
This cat is a neutered sweet, curious orange kitty under a year old and has vet records of rabies shot, plus is chipped but the chip is not registered yet. He’s playful, affectionate, and loves attention. He enjoys interactive play like chasing toys and gentle play-fighting. He’s litter box trained, doesn’t scratch furniture, I have leather couches and glass decorations and he’s never broken or scratched a thing and has a big personality if I had more time, I’d make funny videos of him because he’s so goofy. He’d thrive as part of a bigger community whether it be cats, dogs, children. no single people or elderly cats that cannot tolerate his energy.Ive been fostering him for 4 months but unfortunately, I don’t have any more time, even still I’d always be to take him back if it does not work out. Located in Durham.

Gatsby
Cat, 2 years, Male
Gatsby is a medium hair tuxedo, highly intelligent, and will communicate his needs by coming to you and mewing. He is not a lap cat and doesn't hang out with other cats. He enjoys play with his person, watching wildlife out the window, and observing human action. He recently had a stressful situation in his home and that seemed to elicit marking behavior. He wants to be a good family member but something is making him uncomfortable in his present situation with three other cats in the home.He is currently on special diet food for his urinary tract health.

Pit Mix, 9 months, Female
9-month-old female pit bull mix seeking foster placement and eventual adoption. She has lived primarily outdoors with an unhoused family for most of her life and experienced periods of neglect and abuse. Despite this background, she presents as social, affectionate, and people-oriented. She has received medical evaluation and treatment and is currently stable and cleared for foster placement. She will require completion of medical care, including spay surgery. Professional training is already arranged to begin once medical treatment is complete. Temperament observed to date: friendly with people, affectionate and cuddly, and has done well with other dogs and animals so far. No aggression observed. She is still a young dog and is in progress with housebreaking and crate training; responds well to routine and structure. She would benefit from a foster or adoptive home that can provide consistency, basic training reinforcement, and a calm environment during recovery and training. Overall, she appears to be a good candidate for foster-to-adopt placement.

Obi
Hound Mix, 1 year, Male
Meet Obi! He is a young, adventurous, energetic, playful, and loyal dog looking for the perfect home! In April of 2025 we adopted Obi. We have since then discovered that he requires a home with a large yard surrounded by a tall fence for him to play in. He loves going on adventures in the woods, so if you are someone looking for a hiking/camping companion, this is a great dog for you! Obi loves to play games like fetch with his ball and freebie. He is completely crate trained and potty trained and will sit and lay on command. He is up to date on shots and healthy. The reason he is in need of a new furever home is due being incompatible with our cats and not having the outdoor space he needs.

Maltese, 13 years, Female
This pup hasn't been the same since her owners' divorce. She adored the owner she did not end up with. Her joy and affection were incredible with them. But it has been 5 years since she bonded with anyone else. She just needs the right person.

Arlo
German Shepherd Mix, 11 months, Male
I adopted my sweet Arlo from APS in Durham. He is so gentle, kind, energetic, cuddly and loves to play! Energy when you want, calm when you need. He is very obedient and a quick learner. He plays so well with my black lab and other dogs he has met. He loves a comfy bed and all kinds of toys! He is house trained and not destructive to our things. We let him free roam the house but he is tolerable of a crate if needed. He has all vaccines up-to-date. Within the last 2 weeks he has received his annual flea/tick/heart worm injections so will not be needed for another year. He walks great on the leash and does amazingly in the car. He really is the total package! We are having to rehome him due to my other dog not adjusting well to having another dog in the house. We are doing everything in our power to avoid having to send him back to the incredibly overcrowded and underfunded shelter. I have tons of photos and videos available and we can schedule a meet and greet for a time convenient for you. This precious boy cannot wait to meet you!!!

Popis
Pit, 2 years, Female
We are looking to rehome Popis due to our recent move to Orange County, where pit bulls are not permitted. Popis is a lively, two-year-old brown pit bull who loves attention, playtime, and going for walks. She gets along well with our three cats and our one-year-old twin boys, and everyone in the family, including our 11-year-old, adores her. Popis is full of energy and brings joy and liveliness to our home. We want to ensure she finds a loving, welcoming home where her playful personality will be appreciated.

Sheriff Truman
Cat, 2 years, Male
This is Sheriff Truman! He is a Mexican domestic tabby that's a little over two years old. He's a rescue that is incredibly energetic, playful, and talkative, and he has a lot of love to give. He loves to hunt and chase anything that he can, and will curl up in your lap when he's ready for bed! He's an indoor cat and is up to date on all vaccinations and health checks, and has been neutered. Would be able to provide a cat carrier, harness, scratching post, claw clippers, litterbox and litter, about a week of wet food, treats, and toys. I love him very very much, but have recently had a major change to my work and university schedule that means I won't be able to consistently care for him as is needed, and would love to find a home where he would get all of the love and care that he deserves. Thank you!

Ducky
Cat, 3-4 years, Female
Ducky is a sweet lady we adopted 3 years ago. Unfortunately, she has never warmed up to our other cat causing her a lot of anxiety. We have talked the vet and tried lots of different things to help her feel calmer to no avail. I would recommend Ducky be the only cat in the house. She gets along great with our two dogs and two kids. She took a few months to get brave enough to be around the kids, but now they snuggle on the bed together. We will miss Ducky but feel she will be much happier in a home without another cat.

Malcolm
Cat, 7 years, Female
Malcolm was one of four kittens born on September 1st 2018 I adopted her and her sister when they were old enough to leave their mother and they've lived with me their entire lives in my spacious two bedroom apartment in Durham. They've gotten along great up until 2 years ago when Angus had to have surgery for a bladder stone. Since then Malcolm attacks her sibling not playful like to harm her. Up until that point Malcolm was the subservient cat very gentle very timid. But she is definitely the aggressor now and has been for the last 2 years. I've tried everything including plug-in hormones expensive medications I've talked to the vet I've switched out their litter boxes back and forth nothing has worked. And keeping two cats separated in a 1300 sq ft apartment for 2 years has run its course for me. Malcolm is a beautiful cat with Bullseye markings on her side she loves to be brushed she loves to be petted she loves attention she's great with kids timid but great she loves to play she loves treats unfortunately she just doesn't love her sister anymore. Malcolm would be ideal to live in a home with no other cats or dogs. She's completely up to date on all of her vaccinations she does not have to eat any special diet. I'm hoping she can find a good home with someone who will give her all the attention that she deserves. Lastly if you're wondering why my girl cats have boys names it's because I was told they were boys and I named them after the AC/DC Brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. By the time we all realize they were girls it was too late they both already answered to the names that I given them. One more thing she's only ever been an indoor cat so she should remain an indoor cat. Thanks for your interest!!!
