Sprinkles and Tofu

Budgies, about 3 years, Male

Sprinkles and Tofu are friendly budgies (parakeets) looking for a new place to roost. They are companions and I'm looking for a new home that will take both of them. They enjoy being handled and are happiest when they get social interaction. Both of them are male (blue beaks). I have a small cage and a custom large wooden one (2x2x6 ft) for them.

freya.jpeg

Freya

German Shepherd Mix, 5 months, Female

I’m reaching out today regarding a puppy that was brought into our home last week. While we truly care for her and had high hopes of welcoming her as part of our family, we’ve had to make the very difficult decision to find a more suitable home for her. Our current situation — including work schedules, parenting responsibilities, and other family dynamics — has made it clear that we’re unable to give her the time, structure, and attention she deserves. We’re heartbroken about this, because we know she’s a sweet and loving dog, but we don’t want her to suffer from a lack of consistency or care. We’re hoping to surrender her to a home or shelter that can provide her with the environment and support she needs to thrive. She’s 5 months old,  she was listed as a German shepherd however we think she has husky and boxer mix, her Name is Freya she is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed . She is currently working on potty training and is treat motivated. She knows Sit, lay down and working on Stay she is EXTREMELY SWEET AND SMART. She is great with kids. She most likely needs to go to a home without Cats.

toklo (3).jpeg

Toklo

Lab, 14 months, Male

This sweet boy is named Toklo, after a character in my sons favorite novel series, "Seekers". He is absolutely wonderful, loving, kind, submissive, loves everyone he meets, all animals, great on walks and though he still needs training he knows sit and lie down and listens well when I tell him "no." He needs more animals, people, playtime and a fenced in yard than myself and my son can provide for him, he has an insatiable appetite for play and walks and would do well with fellow pet siblings, especially another dog. Perfect for a farm or a space with lots of room to run around, and even more ideally- an adult or two who work from home. We adore him and want him to have a lovely life. You will love this boy! He is completely updated on required vaccinations and has been on flea/heartworm/ tick medicine each month, as well as recently has had a clean fecal exam.

faucet.jpeg

Faucet

Cat, 8 years, Female

Faucet is looking for a very special, patient home where she can truly thrive. It took her a couple of years to truly feel comfortable with us, and now she shows her affection on her own terms, often with purrs and gentle head nudges when she's ready. She's a highly independent cat who isn't keen on being petted or held, and a quiet home without young children would be best for her. If you're an understanding individual or couple who appreciates a cat with a strong personality and is willing to let her come to you, Faucet could be a wonderful, loyal companion.

Mary.jpg

Mary

Cat, about 2 years, Female

My name is Mary and I am a young adult and very affectionate cat.  A kind man and woman saved me in the winter from the cold.  I just love hanging around people, rubbing against them, and getting petted.  I am laid back.  I have been spayed and ready for a new home, indoors only.  I am FIV positive and would do best in a home with another FIV positive cat or I would be happy to get all the attention from you.  Contact my foster Mom at nearinc2004@yahoo.com if you are ready to meet me.  Some information below on FIV.

What is FIV?  Feline Immunodeficiency Virus(FIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system of cats.  There is no treatment or cure.  FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be transmitted to people or dogs.  FIV+ cats should be kept indoors to prevent exposure to illness, sterilized and fed a balanced diet.  They should be seen by a veterinarian at least once a year to ensure their ongoing good health.

Transmission:  FIV is passed from cat to cat mainly through deep bite wounds, the kind that occur during fights and territorial disputes involving feral and unsterilized males.  Casual, social behavior such as sharing a water/food bowl and mutual grooming will NOT spread FIV.  There is no evidence that cats in the household with an FIV+ cat will acquire FIV from the FIV+ cat.

Lifespan:  Multiple medical studies show that cats who are FIV+ live just as long as FIV-negative cats.  FIV itself does not cause severe clinical signs, and FIV+ cats can live many years without any health problems.

For additional information contact your veterinarian.

gunnar.jpeg

Gunnar

Pit, 6 years, Male

Gunnar is a stray, male pitbull that arrived on my doorstep in January. He is approximately 6 years old and he is microchipped. I fed him back to health and got treatment for an ear infection that he had. He gets along well with my roommates as well as their pets (2 dogs and a cat). He's a loving, big baby and he loves to be pet and cuddled. My schedule does not allow me the time to give Gunnar everything he needs so I'm looking for a good adopter to take on this role.

polo (2).jpg

Wuzby and Polo

Kittens, 11 weeks, Male

UPDATE: Polo has been adopted.

The pets I need to rehome are two 11-week-old kittens named Wubzy and Polo. They were born in a litter of 5 from an outdoor cat that showed up on my porch this last spring. Wubzy (named after the show Wow Wow Wubzy), the gray and white kitty, is a bold and extremely playful kitten who is the perfect playmate. Although he can be a crazy kitty, he will come up to you for pets and to fill your ears with loving purrs. Polo (named after his identical look-alike mother Rolo), the tuxedo tabby kitty, is just like his brother. Energetic and full of life 90% of the time, but then a complete softy the other 10%. Polo tends to look at you and meow when he wants attention. Both of them are total sweethearts and will let you hold and pet them, and even be held like a baby at times (Polo loves it). Both have received kitten flea treatment and are currently undergoing deworming. I am also working on receiving vouchers for neutering, so I will provide those if wanted. They have met my other household cat, and they seem to be intrigued and friendly towards her, so I am confident they will do fine with other cats. They are brothers and love to play together, so it would be amazing if they could go to a home together. However, they can also be separated, as long as they have a loving forever home.

steffi.heic

Steffi

Cat, 1 year, Female

Steffi is a beautiful calico tabby, 1 year and 3 months old, female cat. Her mom cat was a stray and she lived outdoor since birth. She had two kittens and they are living on their own. She is slowly adjusting to an indoor life and turned out to be a very sweet, quiet and loving cat. She needs to be in a single or a couple home without dog since she is starting to learn to live indoor and trust people. She is still scared but she loves and begs for petting her head, neckline with a loud purr and love bites. She has a beautiful golden orange eyes and you can see her reactions through those eyes. She is a quiet cat with a soft spirit, rarely meows, never growl or hiss and that’s why she is better without a dog in the house as she is a sweet cat that will not defend herself and perhaps with low key cat. She is a shy cat and will need to slowly adjust to a room before she can mingle around the house. Would you spare a room for Steffi to become part of your life/lives and let her show you her true colors shining inside and out.

missy.jpg

Missy

Cat, Unknown age, Female

Missy is a gray tabby, female cat. She is a stray and was abandoned by the neighbor. She came to my backyard and so started feeding her. But she is sweet and loves to rub her body on your legs at the same time meows begging for food. She had several kittens and was a good mama cat but she is currently spayed. She will give you her love as you give her love. Would you give Missy a second chance to live indoor so she does not need to be begging for food and to receive your love and care that she needs?

charlie.jpeg

Charlie

Cattle Dog/Chihuahua, 4 years, Male

Charlie is a 4 year old mixed breed pup (cattle dog and chihuahua mix by DNA testing), approximately 45lbs. He loves to lounge in the house and will take long naps on the couch beside you, but is always up for a walk. He enjoys the occasional zoomies in the backyard. He knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. He is food motivated, often liking human food a little too much. He is known for his counter surfing abilities and can get protective if you try to take the human food treasure he’s discovered. He is not protective over his own food or treats. Though he likes children and has never shown aggression towards them, he would be most confident in a quiet adult only home where he can have a routine. Our four “snack-carrying” children do not create an ideal environment for him. He is microchipped, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He does have allergies and requires frequent bathing and daily medication.

River and Raft

Kittens, 4 months, Male

Meet River and Raft — A Dynamic Duo Seeking a Forever Home! These two playful brothers were rescued by the river and have since blossomed into curious, cuddly little balls of joy! At around 4 months old, River and Raft are ready to fill your home with love and laughter. Both are incredibly affectionate, love to play, and get along great with each other (so we’d love for them to be adopted together if possible). Whether they’re chasing toys, curling up for naps, or purring in your lap, they’ll never fail to make you smile. They have had their first vet visit and are up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines. Certificates included! These two have been raised on quality food and are healthy, energetic, and ready for a lifetime of love. We do ask that they be kept indoors (or indoor/outdoor) and that they not be declawed. If you're looking for double the cuddles, double the fun, and double the love, River and Raft might be just the pair for you. Could you be the perfect family to give them their forever home?

ollie.jpeg

Ollie

Australian Cattle Dog/Coonhound Mix, 9 months, Male

Ollie is a 9-month-old Australian Shepherd–Coonhound mix, weighing about 45 pounds. He’s a sweet, playful, and energetic pup who has never met a stranger. Ollie loves to fetch, go for walks, and ride in the car — he’s always ready for his next adventure. He has attended professional training, so he already knows the basics; he just needs consistency and time to reinforce his puppy manners. He’s very friendly, eager to please, and has no signs of aggression — just a happy, goofy pup who thrives with lots of attention and activity. Ollie would do best in an active home with space to play or with someone who enjoys long walks, hikes, or regular playtime. He’s a great match for a family, a couple, or an individual who can keep up with his energy and give him the love and consistency he deserves. I am a senior nursing student at UNC Chapel Hill and, as much as I love Ollie, my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to give him the time and attention he needs. I want to make sure he finds a home where he can thrive. If you’re interested in giving Ollie his forever home, please reach out! I’d be happy to share more about him.

copper.jpeg

Copper

Cat, 1 year, Male

Hello! Our beautiful boys name is Copper or Copper Mans! He is small for his age (1yr) but we believe he was either the runt of his litter or his growth was stunted early. He is shy when it comes to meeting new people but is very treat and food motivated, churro sticks are his current favorite! He is cat friendly, it may take him some time to warm up but once he’s comfortable he’ll be a cuddle bag all day! He is up to date on all his vaccinations and is neutered! We are having to rehome because we are moving and unfortunately will not be able to take him with us. Also due to our new jobs (reason for moving) we won’t be able to spend much time with him. We are hoping to find a family that will love him as much as we do and encourage both families with and without children to consider adding him to your loving home! Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about Copper!.

Bob.png

Bob

Cat, 4 years, Male

Meet Bob! We truly wish we could keep Bob. He has been such a joy in our home. He is a big, gentle boy with the sweetest temperament. Bob is affectionate, loves to purr, and enjoys playtime just as much as curling up beside you. Unfortunately, our first cat has not adjusted well to sharing her space, and for her wellbeing we’ve made the difficult decision to find Bob a new home. Bob has been incredibly gracious with her, and we believe he would do well in a home with other cats. We’re not sure how he is with dogs or children, but given how gentle and easygoing he is, we think he would adapt just fine. Bob is a wonderful cat who deserves a loving forever home. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have such a kind, affectionate companion.

charlee.jpeg

Charlee

Mix, 7 months, Male

We adopted Charlee in July, so he has been with us a couple of months. Prior to him, we have had only two dogs the last 18 years. One died at 13 and one died at 5 of lung cancer. Charlee is a sweet, loving dog. He likes to play and do puppy-ish things, but he is happiest when he can lay beside someone for an extended period of time. He shows signs of anxiety when he is anywhere except a couple of places in our home. When he is outside, he will play for a bit, but always seems focused on the door to get back in the house. As for us, we have realized that a dog like Charlee requires a more rhythmic and structured home than ours. We have two teen children with varied schedules, and the three adults in the home basically have a different schedule every day as well. When we had our other dogs, the kids were younger and we were able to be more accommodating, but this experience has shown us that we are not in a place to offer the best home to a dog like Charlee who needs a balance of fun and zen, within a space (or spaces) he feels at ease. He is a beautiful dog and honestly, we hate re-homing him. But at the end of the day, our home is not the best fit for his personality and what would suit him most. Hoping so much that he will find his forever home via this platform.

luna.jpeg

Luna

Staffordshire Terrier, 5 years, Female

Cuddly couch potato urgently in need of a forever home. Probably allergic to chicken. Currently doing well on a grain free, limited ingredient, diet. Clean bill of health after a recent mast cell removal. Crate and potty trained. Does ok on leash. Likes to chase squirrels and cats. She's unsure about deer and some dogs. Loves to take in all the smells on walks. Gets super excited when playing tug of war. Loves to curl up on sofa and watch cartoons, particularly anime. Has only lived with humans. Definitely not recommended for a a household with cats. Her reaction to other dogs is inconsistent. Has shown promise with training. Comes with all her worldly possessions. (crate, toys, blankets, pillow, bowls, etc.) Not asking for a rehousing fee, just trying to help a friend that became unhoused.

poot.jpeg

Poot

Cat, 2 years, Female

I found Poot outside underneath my car 2 years ago. She was sick and I knew I had to take her with me. Her name was chosen by my friend who was in a terrible wreck when I told her she could name my new cat anything she wanted. Before Poot, I had my cat Kiwi for two years. Unfortunately, they still do not get along like I had hoped. Poot can be food defensive and is incredibly playful, which my previous cat does not like. I have to separate them almost every day. Poot is an incredibly loving and curious cat, but must be the only cat in the home. She will play with you for hours on end. She is very energetic and cuddly, but can be mischievous at times (if you have small objects on your countertops, watch out.) I am moving to Raleigh in two weeks and for the health of my cat Kiwi, Poot will need to be rehomed. Poot also deserves to have the full love and attention from an owner that can solely focus on her. Food and cat accessories will be provided upon adoption.

Lela.jpeg

Lela

Cat, 14 years, Female

Our ~14 year-old calico, Lela, is in need of being rehomed. She is getting increasingly stressed with our 2 dogs. As a result, she is being more aggressive toward them and doing more clawing/scratching on surfaces, which we cannot sustain in our home. Another concern is my wife’s allergies are worsening, with an allergy test confirming cat dander as a likely source. Lela is well fed, healthy, and at least current as of mid-2023 on all shots. She has always lived indoors, is spayed, eats dry and/or wet food, is very affectionate with people, and enjoys being around other cats/dogs. (She did get along well with the dogs, but they are less tolerant of her lately.)

lola (2).jpeg

Lola

Great Pyrenees, 3 years and 10 months, Female

Lola is a loving 3 year old Pyrenees who loves to lay outside and watch the world go by. She also loves to roam and patrol her territory, and keep a look out for squirrels and cats and strange birds, and so she needs a yard with a secure fence (at least 4 feet high) to keep her from wandering off. On walks, she has excellent leash manners and will lope along beside or in front of you without pulling. She came from a home with three other dogs, and so is good with other dogs. She loves meeting new people too: the more people around to give her attention, the better! She is probably good with children, but hasn't lived in a house with kids that we know of. Cats are a hard no. She and cats do not get along. She is house-trained, and for the most part has great house manners. However she needs to be taught not to crowd doors and try to push her way through. For an experienced dog owner with a secure yard, she would be an excellent large, fluffy, snuggly addition to your family!

Marshmallow

Cat, 2 years, Male

Marshmallow is a very sweet 2-year-old guy who was adopted from a shelter last year by my niece. He ended up with me this summer when she had to leave an unhealthy living situation. I took him in until I could find him a new, loving home. He is very low maintenance, loves cuddles, and is litter box trained. Although Marshmallow can be a little skiddish at first, his personality comes out within just a few days. He gets along great with my 60 lb dog and other male cat. He also gets along with (although sometimes hides from...haha) my rambunctious 5-year-old nephew. He would be a great, loving companion for just about any home. Please contact me if you are interested in meeting this sweet young man.

Winnie

Dog, 1.5 years, Female

Winnie is a year and a half mixed breed dog (some kind of retriever for sure, I think!) that was rescued from the streets. She loves to play with other dogs and does well with our kids (ages 6-10). She is very active and loves to fetch. She is house trained and crate trained. She may need some extra time to get used to another dog/animal in the house. She does well with our older dog and chased our cats, but did not attack them. She would love a yard and a family with an active lifestyle and probably do better with medium/bigger dogs. We are making the difficult decision to rehome because my older dog does not tolerate Winnie. We attempted to work with a trainer but the older dog just needs to be an only dog. We want Winnie to be in a loving home where she can run and play. She does have a good bark for anyone that tries to come to the house so if you want a guard dog, she would be a good choice! Once they arrives, they are covered in kisses! She is about 45 lbs, loves cuddles, and treats!
