Nahla

Nahla 1.jpg

Boxer/Pit, 1 year, Female

I'm fostering Nahla because my ex-husband passed away. She's 1 year old and was raised on a farm. She's very respectful to other animals and is wonderful with kids. Nahla would be suited with someone who has a fenced yard so she can run. She's outdoors 50% of the time. She's trained to sit, down, and stay. She's great for walking. Always stays on my right side and doesn't pull. My neighbor is a jogger, and he's been taking her on his morning runs. I'm in an apartment and can only keep her for two months. Nahla has a calm and sweet demeanor.

Tom

tom.jpg

Cat, 3 years, Male

Tom was abandoned by his original owners of the house I just purchased. I know very little about Tom but with the past month I have lived here. He seems to be a bit nervous but he wants affection. If I crouch down to the ground and hold out my hand, he will meow come close and then flop over for belly rubs. However, when I start to get close to him he then tenses up and gets nervous. He will need a house that is quiet and patient.

Bella

bella.jpeg

Cat, 5 years, Female

Bella is an affectionate kitty, she will purr loudly and loves pets. She can be a bit skiddish when people are walking around her but tends to come around when you are lounging around. She gets along well with our 2 dogs and 2 other cats. She hasn't shown much interest in toys but does love a good treat. Her main issue is that sometimes she chooses not to pee in the box and goes to another area to pee on the carpet. We have tried offering her multiple locations for boxes and it still happens. She is a great kitty, I think she needs the opportunity to have multiple litter box locations and minimal carpet areas to really succeed. She has always loved the dogs and usually tends to play with the dogs more then the cats.

Tobi

tobi.jpeg

Husky, 1 year, Male

Tobi is his name, I got him a little over a year ago. He is very playful and loves chewing on bones and toys. I am currently relocating for work and the residence does now allow his breed, as much as it pains me. He will need a new home.

Solo

solo.jpg

Beagle, 10 months, Male

We got Solo from a farm when he was two months old. He is ten months now. I believe would thrive in a home with a yard for him to run, or a person that can take him on runs with them, or to the dog park daily. I think he'd do best with a pretty regular schedule. He is an extremely sweet and loving guy. He is very active and wants lots of attention. He wants to be friends with everyone he meets (people and other dogs, included). He hasn't been around any cats yet.

Shepard

shepherd.jpg

Beagle Mix, 7-9 years, Female

Hi My Name is Shepard! My current family took me in 2 years ago when I had no place else to go. They have given me love, safety, health care, friends, family in addition to a good home. My family recently welcomed a baby into the home which makes me fearful, as I do much better in calm homes with adults and older relaxed dogs. I also can be fearful when lots of people are around because I worry they don't see me when they walk past me. I love homes with adults who like to go for walks outside and don't mind my company around the house.

Cats and Kittens

IMG_3924 2.jpg

Cats, Various ages and genders

Someone left 6 cats on my property. We have been able to catch 4 of them. I cannot keep them but do NOT want to take them to a county shelter so would like to try and find them new homes. I don't have any information about their health histories. There are 2 adults tabbies, a friendly and curious juvenile tabby, and a beautiful tortie.

Georgie and Pem

georgie and pem.png

Cats, 3 years, Female

Georgie and Pem (short for Georgiana and Pemberley) are two very sweet bonded cats. I have had these cats since they were babies, but my lifestyle has changed and can unfortunately no longer support them. I am moving over the summer and cannot take them with me. These sweet cats deserve a home where they can explore and be enriched. Georgie (white and brown nose) is spunky, playful and loves to head-butt. Pem (dark nose) is clumsy, loves to cuddle, and loves to watch TV. These two cats love people and will make anyone laugh. They currently receive their regular vet care at the Petco on Renaissance Pkwy in Durham.

Delilah

delilah (2).jpg

Cat, 3 years, Female

We adopted Delilah the cat 2 years ago. She is a very sweet kitty when the house is quiet, but struggles with anxiety around our child who we discovered is Autistic a year after adopting her. Our child is too chaotic for her and she's terrified around him. Additionally, she is a Siamese mix and has difficulty seeing. She is cross eyed and has nystagmus, which is very common in Siamese mix cats. This also means that our home's frequently changing layout with kid toys and such causes her confusion. The right thing to do for her is re-home her somewhere with no kids, relative calm, and a relatively static layout. She has done great with our other cats and when the house is quiet at bedtime, she jumps on the bed and meows to be petted. She'll sleep on the bed with us, though she isn't much of a lap cat. That could change in a home where she feels safer.

Dolly

dolly.jpg

Red Alaskan Husky, 2 years, Female

Meet Dolly (what else would you name a blonde blue eyed beauty. Unfortunately we can not keep this sweet girl. She doesn't get a long great with our other dogs. It's truly heart breaking to re-home her but we feel it would be best for her if she were the only pet in the home. She is not dog aggressive, is friendly to other dogs on walks. We have crate trained her (you may have her crate) she knows how to sit & all that good stuff. She's super smart, easy to train. She loves to run & play fetch. Loves to snuggle on the couch & rip up stuffed toys She's quite the love bug & adores attention. She talks cause she is a husky but is not much of a barker. She is up to date on all shots & vaccines.  Note: Dolly is located in Wake Co.

Ahri

ahri (3).jpg

Cat, 11 years, Female

I am posting my Mom's cat who is a female domestic short hair. Her name is Ahri with grey fur with patches of white. She is older so she is very calm and likes to sleep a lot, but loves company. She would be a great fit for a quiet household that can give her great spots to sleep and stay warm. I unfortunately need to rehome her due to my mom developing dementia and she can no longer take care of her. I am fostering her for the moment in an already crowded busy house.

Munchkin

munchkin.jpg

Cat, 3 years, Female

Munchkin is super sweet, cute, and timid. She was found abandoned in her previous owners home which is horrible but it helped hone her awesome mousing skills. Some of her fur is patchy and thin due to anxiety from her pulling it out but it has slowly started to grow back in. She's pretty timid even tho we try to not be super noisy or quick with our movements. She is a talker and will let you know when she's hungry! It is like cute little mews and not really loud at all. She loves playing with the little nerf ball we gave her and will toss it around and chase it. She would need a litter box with higher walls or enclosed to help prevent the litter getting slung out but she's acclimated to using clay litter instead of pellets just fine. She needs a loving home who can be patient and understanding that she's a bit shy and will love her for the sweet little girl that she is. She's 3 years old but the size of a young kitten which is definitely one of her many perks.

Scrump

scrump.jpg

Mix, 2 years, Female

It truly breaks my heart to be filling out this form. Scrump is my sweet, friendly 2 year old rescue. I got her when she was 3 months old from Orange County Animal Shelter. She has always been a very high energy, playful dog. She LOVES walks, running around, and adventures. She can be reactive out of anxiety. She tends to be fearful of new things and loud noises (buses, trucks, scooters, bikes). She truly is the sweetest dog in the world, but can be very anxious. Since I have had her, it has always been her and I. She's grown up with just me in a small little apartment. I am now engaged and have gained a family with two step kids (one of which has special needs) and another dog. I can tell that Scrump is stressed and not happy here. It breaks my heart to even be at this point, but I would much rather her be happy. She would THRIVE in a single dog home. She is kind and loving. She loves to cuddle. She has been my best friend in the whole word for almost 3 years and it kills me to be doing this, but I want her to be so happy.

Winston

winston.jpeg

Great Dane, 1 year, Male

Winston is 1. He is a pure breed, AKC and CKC registered Great Dane. We got him from a breeder about a year ago and since then have had a child, job changes, and a recent move to Orange County. We just can’t keep up with him lately and he deserves better with a family that can give him more attention and love. He can be a chewer, especially beds, so it’s recommended to use chew proof toys and beds. He’s trained in many commands but little rusty and is mostly house trained although he still has some accidents.

Phantom

phantom.jpeg

Cat, 1 year, Female

She is shy but sweet, prefers to come to humans and be in their lap to get petted, very loving, likes to burrow under blankets, wiggly and non-cooperative at the vet, does not like to be picked up, not good with small children-fearful.

Phantom and her sister Specter are litter mates but they fight a LOT. I think they would do better in separate households. They both growl while they eat. They’re accustomed to automatic feeders and water fountains. My son is too rough with them and I worry he will hurt them or vice versa, he’s not quite old enough to understand us when we tell him no and to be gentle. My elderly grandmother is also moving in with us in June so we have a deadline to rehome them both by then.

Specter

Cat, 1 year, Female

Dominant, sweet, doesn’t mind being picked up,  great with small kids, adores my 1 year old son but he is becoming far too rough with them and doesn’t understand “no” yet, she growls and hisses at the vet but ironically does really well for everything, just opinionated.

Daisy

daisy (3).png

English Mastiff, 2.5 years, Female

Daisy is one of 2 English mastiffs I am rehoming. I have been a mastiff owner for the past 15 yrs. About 6 months after I adopted. I started having severe pain through my body, I was diagnosed with a rheumatic autoimmune disease and fibromyalgia. So I have a hard time handling them physically. Which leaves my son. She is with penned with her sister. And I feel horrible. But, Daisy has gotten two of our chickens when she was out in the yard tard. Cats are a pretty much no go.. She barks every time she sees sees one. She may bark at you at first by she has never been aggressive towards toward anyone. She is crate trained at night. She needs to relearn leash walking. No they don't slobber. Maybe after they drink for a minute. So it's minimal. She has not been fixed. She also will need a current rabies rabies shot.
